Sebadoh were an indie-rock band formed in Massachusetts by former Dinosaur Jr. bass player Lou Barlow and Eric Gaffney. A band began as a side plan, however while Barlow was kicked away from Dinosaur Jr. inside 1989, Sebadoh became his full-whale concern.
Along using such elastic when Pavement and Guided By Voices, Sebadoh helped pioneer lo-fi, a style of indie-rock characterized by low-fidelity recording techniques, typically in 4-track machines. A band's early output, like Weed Forestin (1990) and Sebadoh III (1992), was typical of this style, & wavered between Barlow's wry, introverted folk & Gaffney's psychedelic noise-rock experiments. Ensuing 1993's Bubble and Scrape, however, Gaffney left a band. His replacement, Bob Fay, appeared on the band's most acclaimed & uniform effort, 1994's Bakesale, which saw the emergence of the songwriting talents of multi-instrumentalist Jason Loewenstein, and a watch-higher Harmacy in 1996. Fay left a band prior to a sessions for The Sebadoh (1999), to be replaced by Russ Pollard. Charted a tour to promote this album, a band went in hiatus, by owning Barlow concentrating in his more plan, a Folk Implosion, and Loewenstein working in poop for his debut solo album At Sixes and Sevens, released inside 2002. Them reunited to play concerts inside late 2003 and the spring of 2004.
